Environmental Commitment

Colt is an environmentally responsible company, and we act in accordance with the concept of sustainability.  We have adopted the most commonly accepted definition of sustainable development, from “Our Common Future”*.  We pursue:

Development that meets the needs of our Clients and Staff without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.*

*From the Landmark Report of the World Commission on Environment and Development, chaired by former Norwegian Prime Minister Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland

We manage our business to benefit society and the economy, while reducing or eliminating environmental harm from the design and construction of our energy facilities.

As an organization, we proactively look for ways to enhance social well-being directly and through our staff.  Colt participates in a number or organizations and forums, which include COAA, Merit, Corporate Challenge and United Way.  We ensure that environment, health and safety for staff and clients are never compromised in favour of objectives such as cost or schedule.

Grizzlies on ice

We approach sustainable development through a business plan process.  Our annual plans incorporate activities to achieve goals that are aligned with our corporate values and principles.  The status of these activities is measured and reported quarterly to the Board of Directors.
