Quality of life is often defined by one particular thing – low crime, availability of arts, entertainment and leisure activity, access to outdoor recreational and wilderness areas, an excellent infrastructure or great

universities. A definition containing just one attribute would be far too limiting for a city like Toronto, however. Toronto is not just admired for its health-care and education systems or its rich cultural mosaic. Quality of life in Toronto is not just about its calibre of major-league sports, entertainment or cultural offerings. In Toronto, quality of life is about all of these things and more.

In the surrounding communities housing is very affordable and the lifestyle tends to be very family oriented.
Tales of igloos and sub-zero temperatures might be used to describe other regions in Canada,
but not Toronto. Toronto is on the same latitude as Cannes on the sunny Riviera. In fact, Lake Ontario serves to moderate Toronto's weather to the point that its climate is one of the mildest in Canada.
