Colt Edmonton was established in 1973 and now consists of over 850 employees located in several buildings, strategically located to be close to our clients, within the city.
Our main office is located in southeast Edmonton. This office has complete EPCM capability for revamp, grassroots, turnaround, commissioning and start-up, as well as design of modular facilities.

Refining
Colt Edmonton has led or supported project development work leading to full-scale implementation on grassroots, brownfield, capacity expansion and debottleneck projects at major refineries for Canadian and US clients. We are experienced in front-end and detailed engineering, project and construction management and plant commissioning. Our office has expertise in process design and
engineering for all refinery units including crude and vacuum, hydrotreating and hydrocracking, catalytic cracking, gas recovery, catalytic reforming, alkylation, hydrogen facilities, lube oil extraction, dewaxing, deasphalting, and sour gas processing, offsites and utilities.
Power
Edmonton has a power-generation team that is unparalleled in our experience and proven ability to deliver optimal plant design and layout. We have a full scope of engineering services with expertise in the energy industry that includes coal-fired, gas-turbine, simple-cycle,
wood-fired, industrial and utility boilers, rehabilitation and life extension, industrial and process plant integration, environmental compliance, and NOx, SOx and mercury abatement.
Oil Sands
Over the past 30 years, Colt Edmonton has been directly involved in the design and construction of thousands of projects in the Alberta oil sands. Project involvement spans from scoping study work and project development work through clients' gated processes, leading to
large-scale commercial installations. Our expertise is particularly strong in the areas of oil sands mining and extraction, including dry material handling, slurry systems and hydrotransport, extraction, froth treatment, solvent recovery, and tailings technology.
Pipeline Facilities
Edmonton has over 30 years experience in conceptual and detailed design of pipeline facilities. Our pipeline facilities specialists have experience in all aspects of pipeline facilities including initiating and receiving terminals, pump stations, storage tanks and manifold systems, mainline and booster pumps, custody transfer and metering,
pipeline tie-ins and remote and local control systems. Our office is able to support clients through project scoping and costing, preliminary engineering and detailed engineering on a variety of pipeline facilities projects including large capital projects, expansions and sustainable project work.
Core Projects
The Colt Edmonton Core Projects Team specializes in managing smaller-capital projects in operating plants and greenfield sites, which call for a multi-functional team with strong cross-discipline skills. We have the ability to successfully execute plant upgrade, revamp and
optimization work, with technical support from the entire Colt organization. Our expertise in petrochemical, refining, oil sands, oil and gas production and emerging industries includes work at all project phases, from project development to detailed engineering and project support.
