We have demonstrated success in documenting and developing:
- Business requirements
- Project GIS standards
- Data models
- Information technology infrastructure
- Data migration
- Spatial database design
- Data hosting
- Web-enabled solutions
Geospatial Information Services
Geospatial information systems (GIS) are a set of integrated tools designed to collect, store, manipulate, manage, analyze and visualize spatial information. GIS technology is developing very rapidly and is becoming a standard environment from which to manage and analyze information.
Colt Geomatics' GIS group offers a wide variety of services and solutions to meet the increasing demands of managing data within the oil and gas industry.
Colt's specialty is to implement scalable solutions for a staged approach to data management. Colt's demonstrated specialty services include:
- Data collection, conversion and integration
- Automated alignment sheet generation
- Data management and document management integration
- GIS programming
- Mapping and plotting
Geospatial Data
Highest quality data deliverables
The main purpose of this group of professionals is to fulfil clients' requirements for geospatial base data. Geospatial base data includes data sets that are fundamental to modern GIS/IT-based business processes, including:
- Facilities location (drilling pad, compressor station)
- Obtaining cadastral/landowner information
- Natural surface features (rivers, wetlands)
- Anthropogenic features (roads, houses)
- Natural or political boundaries
- Topography
- Aerial or terrestrial imagery
- Legacy information (survey field notes, as-builts)
The GeosSpatial Data Group provides the highest quality data deliverables through their understanding of strict project management procedures, data quality, standards, spatial integrity and extensive experience with geospatial data sets. Three main functional units operate within the GeoSpatial Data Group to provide clients with valuable base data: Aerial and satellite imagery and processing (including LiDAR); legacy data conversion, quality assurance, migration and maintenance; and CAD.
CAD Services
Although GIS and data models are advancing traditional routines such as alignment sheet generation, CAD still retains a strong position in editing and maintaining data integrity, particularly during the CAD/GIS transition presently being experienced by so many companies. Colt Geomatics is founded on strong experience in CAD and is particularly knowledgeable in the issues related to CAD/GIS transition. Specific expertise provided to our clients includes:
- Construction drawings
- As-built drawings
- Mechanical drawings
- Hydrostatic test drawings
- Pipe replacement drawings
- CAD drawing conversion for automated alignment sheet generators
