Advanced Analysis

The advanced analysis consulting practice is a global network of consultants focused on advanced numerical analysis. Operating from within the larger WorleyParsons organization, they bring a unique blend of technical expertise and extensive practical and on-site experience.

Core capabilities offered by the advanced analysis team include:

    • Finite element analysis (FEA) – linear, non‑linear, dynamic, impact, heat transfer, thermal/structural etc.
    • Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis – flow assessments/modeling, erosion, thermodynamics etc.
    • Numerical methods which are used for assessment of dynamic systems,
noise/acoustic engineering, plant integrity studies, extreme event simulations, fluid structure interaction, multiphysics simulation, and equipment verification

The practice also has an established track record in niche engineering areas including the provision of expert and forensic engineering advice, durability assessments, flood modeling, fracture mechanics-based fatigue assessments and modeling of fire, blast and release scenarios.

Providing our customers with a competitive edge

From an understanding of the challenges faced by our customers, the advanced
analysis consulting practice employs numerical techniques including FEA, CFD and first principles programming to meet these challenges via:

    • Modeling the behavior of complex systems to understand underlying behaviors
    • Developing concepts using an understanding of the system and evaluating their effectiveness using virtual prototyping to significantly reduce the time required to determine the optimal configuration
    • The ability to create a dynamic simulation of complex supply chains, enabling
the customer to better understand the bottlenecks and optimize the system throughput
    • Improvements to safety, reliability and efficiency through a better understanding of both the individual component behaviors and the system as a whole
    • Use of verified and validated numerical methods to obtain the design outcomes that in the past required the use of physical testing. This reduces costs, time and can lead to a better product
    • The move away from physical testing in order to reduce costs, time to market, and minimise waste
