West Patricia is a small CPP with an anticipated output of 15,000 bbls p/d of oil.  It is located offshore Sarawak in Block SK 309 and SK 311, approximately 49 km from Bintulu in 40 m water depth.

WorleyParsons' Kuala Lumpur office carried out the detailed design of topsides and substructure.  Detailed engineering of the facilities was achieved in a limited time frame so that long lead items could be procured and delivered by the customer in time for the fabricator to install.  The Perth office carried out a feasibility study into a cantilevered float over technique.

The WPPA and WPIA platforms within the West Patricia Development combined a number of innovations to reduce the as-installed cost and the total development duration.

By using a jackup rig installation, the jacket placement, piling and drilling could be executed significantly in advance of the topsides procurement and fabrication (allowing a fast track development). Installation of the topsides via float-over removed the need for a high cost derrick barge. Lastly, the use of the through-leg piles as conductors increased wave transparency and decreased total steel weight.

In recognition of this contribution, WorleyParsons was commended during an award ceremony on March, 16th 2004.
