Following the completion of Phase 3 FEED on schedule and within budget, TCO have awarded the WorleyParsons Kazakhstan project team Phase 4 detailed engineering design for the Sulphur Expansion Project.
The project is to select, define and implement systems and facilities that will result in an increase of saleable sulphur export capacity. The main elements consist of the following:
- Additional sulphur degassing facilities
- Additional sulphur forming (granulation) facilities
- Incremental pumping and interconnecting pipework supporting the additional facilities
- Control system integration with existing sulphur forming units
- Expansion of utilities and infrastructure to support additional facilities
Local content, an important issue in Kazakhstan, will be boosted by integrating personnel from local Design Institutes KING and KGNT who will additionally benefit from the training and experience of working with modern design tools in a western environment.
In addition to the engineering, the Kazakhstan office will provide full procurement services using Integraph Marian software, and will work share with WorlyParsons' London office for procurement of out of country equipment and materials.
