In August Worley and Astron Engineering Pty Ltd signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the purchase of Astron and the establishment of a new Worley office in Karratha.
Astron is a combined engineering and environmental consultancy service with 15 employees in Karratha and Perth. Astron was established in 1985 and works for many large corporations in the North-West including Hamersley Iron, Dampier Salt, Robe River, Woodside and the Water Corporation.
It has a vigorous environmental department currently completing significant projects for Landcorp, DPA, BGC, Apache and ChevronTexaco.
To ensure continuity for existing clients, the new office will initially operate under the business name Worley Astron. Worley believes that the opening of this new regional office in the busy oil and gas and minerals capital of the nation will result in a major boost to our business in Karratha and significant benefits to Worley businesses in Perth.
